What is BOARD?

BOARD is a premier horizontal leadership event designed specifically for board members – including CEOs, Chairs, C-Suite and Non Executive Directors. It tackles the strategic challenges, opportunities, and risks that these leaders face both in their individual roles and collectively as a board.

Boardrooms today must address a rapidly growing range of complex issues – from AI and technology, governance and regulatory compliance, overall strategy, enterprise risk, cyber security resilience, succession planning, and supply chain stability, to the increasingly critical domains of M&A, capital allocation, and investment decision-making. Mastering these demands requires deep insight, fresh context, diverse perspectives, and direct access to emerging opportunities.

Above all, BOARD is building a vibrant community of influential leaders whose decisions on strategy, investment and governance shape organisations and markets for the better.

Why BOARD, Why Now?

For decades, boards were designed primarily for oversight. They met periodically. They reviewed performance. They ensured accountability and compliance. And that model worked when change happened slowly and the environment companies operated in was relatively stable.

But for businesses on a growth trajectory, that model no longer reflects reality.

Boards today find themselves faced with a rapidly growing range of complex issues – from AI, enterprise risk, cyber security resilience and supply chain stability, to the increasingly critical domains of M&A, capital allocation and investment decision-making.

As a result, today's boards are far more deeply involved in the direction of the businesses they oversee. Today's boardroom is a war-room, where directors partner proactively with CEOs to chart the course of the business. Across Europe, more than 70% of boards now play an active operational role alongside executive leadership.

At the same time, the questions facing leadership teams are becoming strikingly similar across industries: how to deploy technology, how to manage risk, how to attract capital, and how to scale sustainably. But the opportunities for these leaders to compare their experiences and sharpen their thinking across their shared challenges have remained limited.

Until now.

BOARD is where Europe’s most ambitious businesses meet the ideas, capital and partners they need to scale. This two and a half day forum is designed around peer-to-peer exchange and collective problem solving, bringing CEOs and their boards together with the investors, tech platforms and advisors who can help fuel their growth.

And the moment couldn't be more critical. Private enterprise in Europe needs stronger support, greater capital access, and sharper board-level dialogue to compete globally, amid geopolitical uncertainty, regulatory fragmentation, and technological disruption.

Our Values

The conviction to build something that competes on a global stage, not just survives in a domestic market. BOARD is built for leaders who think beyond the next quarter. The founders scaling across borders. The boards making considered capital decisions. The investors seeking the next generation of European businesses. Ambition at this level requires more than vision, it requires the right environment, the right conversations, and the right people. BOARD is where that comes together.

Honest counsel, genuine relationships, and decisions made in the interests of the business, not optics. BOARD holds itself to the same standard it expects of the leaders it convenes. The content is unsentimental. The conversations are direct. The relationships are genuine. In a landscape where trust is hard-won, integrity is not something we talk about, it’s simply how we operate.

A consistent commitment to quality in the people, the content, and the experience. BOARD does not optimise for scale. It optimises for relevance. Every speaker is a practitioner. Every format is designed to generate genuine insight. Every attendee is selected because they contribute something meaningful to the room. Excellence here is not an aspiration, it is the baseline.

The right relationships, formed through substance and shared context, not surface networking. BOARD brings capital and companies into the same room. It connects investors seeking thoughtful deal flow with founders and boards looking for the right long-term partners. It connects Non Executive Directors with their next appointment, and growth-stage boards with the governance expertise they need to scale. The connections made at BOARD are not incidental, they are the point.

Candid, board-level exchange shaped by shared experience, not theory, not hierarchy. BOARD is where CEOs, Chairs, Non Executive Directors and investors speak directly, without intermediaries. The most valuable intelligence in any boardroom comes from people who have navigated the same decisions, on capital allocation, founder succession, AI governance, institutional accountability, and lived with the outcomes. Every format at BOARD is designed to create the conditions for that exchange.

Problems BOARD Solves

  • 85% of directors cite lack of professional development as primary cause of governance failure.
  • Exploding oversight & complexity: 68% of European CEOs say board involvement has doubled in recent years, with geopolitics, AI, regulation, ESG, and supply chains piling on relentlessly.
  • Skyrocketing stakeholder demands lead to more time spent, self-doubt on trusted decisions (41%), and rotten data reliance (46%).
  • Only 35% of directors feel confident addressing cyber security, AI governance and regulatory scrutiny.
  • Traditional deal sourcing is broken, while PE holds €1.1T in dry powder waiting for off-market opportunities.
  • Scale-up CEOs face major growth barriers: 42% cite access to finance as a top hurdle, and 80% say warm referral/introduction processes to equity providers would be highly valuable.

How BOARD Solves

BOARD is the unique horizontal forum that cuts through complexity and delivers real value:

Cross-industry peer exchange
Focused, peer-led engagement on the frontiers boards find most daunting – cyber security, AI governance, and regulatory scrutiny – building the practical confidence that only 35% of directors currently hold, and equipping leaders to govern emerging risk rather than reacting to it.
Straight facts, no spin

Fresh, peer-verified conversations that clear the fog of exploding oversight, unreliable data (46%), decision self-doubt (41%), and relentless demands – helping leaders restore confidence and make sharper calls.

Essential high-level development
The rare professional growth space for Non Executive Directors through direct exposure to diverse perspectives, emerging opportunities, and boardroom best practices.
Proprietary capital connections
Directly linking boards/CEOs with investors for warm, relationship-led introductions - unlocking access to €1.1T in PE dry powder, solving finance barriers (42% of scale-ups), and creating off-market deal flow where traditional sourcing fails (80% value referrals).
